Position Title: Instructor and Assistant Professor level position in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders

Job Description:
We have openings for Instructor (newly licensed) and Assistant Professor level clinical psychologists at the Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CUCARD) office at Columbus Circle in NYC. 

We anticipate openings for our early childhood program (ages 3-7; CALM/PCIT and related treatment approaches), school aged and school refusal program (7 to 14; Coping Cat and Unified Protocol), as well as for our adolescent and emerging adult clinic (Launching Emerging Adults Program), and adult program.

Primary responsibilities involve conducting diagnostic/intake evaluations and individual, family and group psychotherapy utilizing empirically supported treatments with children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient clinic setting. Preference will be given to a psychologist with expert experience/high competency in all aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or ACT, particularly evidence-based treatments for anxiety and OCD. Behavioral observation, second-opinion treatment planning and consultation, intensive treatment protocols, and school consultation are also conducted as needed. 

Applicants must have a strong background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and experience evaluating children, adolescents or adults using the Anxiety Disorders Interview Schedules (ADIS) interview assessments and treating patients across the anxiety disorders spectrum and including school refusal behavior. For our adolescent and adult programs, preference will be given to applicants with substance use disorders and/or DBT experience. The psychologist will be expected to engage with community referral sources, give presentations and do outreach with school and community groups, and will participate in our academic programming to supervise trainees, as well as perform other teaching duties as assigned.  Candidates with demonstrated productivity in publishing, program development, research, and engagement in the professional organizations are encouraged to apply.

Part of Columbia University’s Department of Psychiatry, CUCARD is comprised of a highly energetic, vibrant and fun group of clinical social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists who all have expertise in treating  anxiety, OCD, mood and behavioral disorders. The clinic founder is Anne Marie Albano, PhD, ABPP, and Director E. Blake Zakarin, Ph.D  We collaborate closely with our Westchester CUCARD program, directed by Anthony C. Puliafico, PhD.  Participation in ABCT and APA's Division 53 will be encouraged and benefits include a travel stipend.
