Intensive Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Anxiety Disorders

The Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders is pleased to announce the availability of intensive treatment for anxiety disorders. During intensive treatment, patients may have prolonged sessions one or more times each week. Intensive CBT is typically offered for specific phobias, panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Intensive CBT focuses on:

• Psychoeducation about anxiety disorders

• Learning and applying skills for coping with anxious thoughts

• Managing anxiety-related bodily sensations

• Conducting behavioral exposures to real life situations during the session, and practicing outside of the session

We welcome active collaboration with current care providers around goals and objectives.
