SOCIAL SKILLS GROUP FOR ADOLESCENTS

The Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders will be offering a social skills group for young adolescents ages 11-13.

This 12 to 15 week cognitive behavioral group program will focus on building and improving social interaction skills including:

  • Communication skills including active listening and conversation skills
  • How to meet and keep friends
  • Assertiveness training
  • Handling and appropriately expressing difficult emotions
  • Problem solving
  • Dealing with teasing and bullying

Treatment will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30-6:00.
