Dr. Robin is a psychologist at the Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders and faculty in the Department of Psychiatry. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Temple University. Dr. Robin specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy of children, adolescents, and adults. She has expertise in the treatment of anxiety disorders and disruptive behavioral disorders and has received specialized training in parent-child interaction therapy for disruptive behavior disorders, exposure and response prevention for OCD and habit reversal for Tourettes Syndrome and tic disorders. Dr. Robin specializes in Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Separation Anxiety Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. In addition, Dr. Robin has expertise in parenting and family therapy. She conducts parenting groups for parents of anxious youth, where parents can learn strategies to help their anxious child and learn how to parent effectively (link). Finally, Dr. Robin runs Cognitive behavioral Group Therapy for adolescents and young adults coping with social anxiety disorder (link). Dr. Robin has provided clinical services in a number of treatment facilities, including the Child and Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic of Temple University, the Center for Management of ADHD in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Council for Relationships, and Schneider Children’s Hospital of Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Robin’s research focuses on the role of parenting in the development of anxiety disorders in youth, emotional regulation in anxious youth, and the efficacy of cognitive behavioral treatment for anxiety disorders. Dr. Robin has been a supervisor and therapist on several NIMH-funded treatment outcome studies examining the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral treatments for youth with anxiety disorders. In 2004, she received a National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Mental Health to study the relationship between parenting and child anxiety in African American families. Dr. Robin has co-authored several articles and book chapters on child anxiety and cognitive behavioral therapy for child anxiety. In addition, she has presented her work at several annual national conferences and provides workshops for teachers, social workers, and psychologists on cognitive behavioral therapy for children with anxiety disorders and disruptive behavior in the New York City and Westchester area.
